What are the video and camera policies for the Rose Garden and Memorial Coliseum?

The Rose Garden camera policy may change on an event by event basis, please check with the event details page for each artists’ specific camera policy.

The general Rose Garden Camera Policy is: Non-professional cameras (those without detachable lenses) are permitted in the arena for Rose Quarter concerts, as long as no flash is used. Professional photography is prohibited. Video cameras are usually prohibited, unless prearranged before the event. If you have a digital camera, the same  restrictions apply. If your digital camera has any video recording capabilities and there is a no video recording policy at the event, your camera will not be permitted in the building. The same policy applies to digital video cameras that can take still photos. In no instance may photography interfere with access ways, seats, aisles or other guests' enjoyment of the event. Please check the event calendar on our website in advance to check each events policy, or check the policy signs when entering the building. For camera information for the Trail Blazers game, please check the Frequently Asked Questions page on Blazers.com.

My child is coming to an event and I want to be present without buying a ticket.  What are my options?
For select Rose Quarter events, we offer a parent room.  When one is offered, this information will be posted on our website on the event details page.  You do not need a ticket to enter the parent room, but will need to pay for parking if you decide to park in one of our garages for the evening.  Sorry, no in and out privileges will be given once you pay for parking.  Popcorn, sodas and water will be available in the parent room.  Sorry, no outside food and beverages (including water) are permitted inside the Rose Garden and Memorial Coliseum.

Please remember to write down where your child is sitting for your own information.  If your child wants to meet you, they will be allowed into the parent room, but because all of our events are ticketed, you will not be able to go to their seats.  Make arrangements in advance to meet your child after the event.  Parents are not allowed entry into the arena even after the event has ended.  We recommend that you either meet your child at the parent room or outside the building at one of our main entrances.  We recommend using landmarks or entries to make it easy to remember for both you and your child. For example, the North Entrance is located at Entry A-7 and is attached to the Garden Garage parking.  The South Entrance is at Entry A-25 and has the Essential Forces water feature outside.

Can I camp overnight at the Rose Quarter before an event or a ticket on sale?
Overnight camping on Rose Quarter property is prohibited and guests will be escorted off property.  Guests are not permitted on campus before 6am.

Are laser pointers allowed at the Rose Quarter?

Laser pointers are strictly prohibited. If any guest refuses to discard in their laser pointer, they will be escorted off the premises and are not entitled to a refund.

I want to bring a sign in the Rose Garden or Memorial Coliseum, what is your policy?
Feel free to bring hand held signs and show your support for your favorite team. We ask that signs are not mounted on a stick and must be held by one person. Signs can be no larger than 11" x 17" in order that others views are not blocked.

Can I bring in balloons, flowers or gifts?
Balloons are not allowed in either building and flowers and gifts are collected at the doors or at the information booths.

How can other people be stopped from standing up or dancing during an event?
We have a majority rule for sections.  If the majority of the section is standing, then we allow standing; if there are only a few and they are interfering with the view of others behind them, then we ask them to sit. Each situation is handled on an individual basis. Standing on seats, rails or other structures is never permitted under any circumstances.

Can I scalp tickets on Rose Quarter property?
Selling tickets to other people is strictly prohibited on the Rose Quarter property.  Individuals selling tickets must do so on the sidewalk off of the property of the Rose Quarter.  We do not guarantee nor do we refund the money of anyone who purchases tickets from scalpers.  If you purchase a ticket and it reads "Stop" or "Stolen" on our scanners then you will be denied access to the building and you will be escorted from the property.  Those selling stolen tickets will be arrested.

If I have a concealed weapons permit, may I bring a weapon into the Rose Quarter?
All weapons (handguns, etc.) will not be permitted on our premises, even if you have a concealed weapons permit.

If I am an active off-duty police officer, may I bring my weapon with me to an event?
The Rose Garden is a private facility which hosts private events. We do not allow off-duty police to carry their firearm into the buildings.

What is the Rose Quarter alcohol policy?
Alcohol is served at most events in the Rose Quarter. Guests are served no more than two drinks at a time. During sporting events, alcohol can be bought at concession stands or at several kiosks located throughout the concourse. Alcohol sales end at the start of the last period of play for Basketball and Hockey.  Guests are welcome to take their drinks back to their seats for most events. Locations will vary depending on the event. If you have any questions or concerns regarding an alcohol issue, please contact Guest Services or Security.

What are the Rose Quarter Guest Conduct Policies?
The Rose Quarter strives to provide guests with a safe, comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. To ensure that a pleasant experience is not disrupted or ruined by a few unruly guests, we have established the Rose Quarter Code of Conduct. The following acts shall be grounds for denial of ticket sales, eviction from or non-admittance to the Rose Quarter grounds without a refund:

    • Activity likely to endanger person or property
    • Activity or item that could disrupt or interfere with performances or other activities including, but not limited to air horns or laser pointers
    • Bringing into the facility articles that could be perceived as dangerous including, but not limited to, weapons, chains, bottles or cans
    • Smoking or carrying a lighted cigar, cigarette or pipe in NO SMOKING areas
    • Individuals who appear intoxicated
    • Attempting to smuggle alcoholic beverages into the building
    • Consuming or carrying dispensed alcohol in areas other than designated areas for consumption
    • The selling to, possession of, or consumption by a minor of alcoholic beverages
    • Bringing into the facility any type of beverage or food container other than those necessary for medical or childcare

Those who witness other guests violating Rose Quarter policies should report offenders to the nearest Rose Quarter staff member. Guests should be aware that it is illegal to drink alcohol outside the arena except in designated beer gardens. Violators of the law are subject to arrest and prosecution by the Portland Police Department.
