The Dew Tour, the world’s premier season-long action sports tour, announced tickets to the Wendy’s Invitational are available for purchase now. The Wendy’s Invitational is the third of five events on the 2009 Tour and will be held in Portland’s Rose Quarter, August 13-16. Returning to Portland for the fifth consecutive year, the event will feature the greatest talent in skateboarding, BMX and freestyle motocross.
For the first week that tickets are on sale, the Dew Tour is running a special promotion. With any purchase of a Reserved or Action Zone ticket between May 11-17, fans will receive a 25% discount. The promotion will not apply to grounds pass tickets.
Action Zone tickets for the Wendy’s Invitational are available for $100 each day, Friday through Sunday, for children and adults. The Action Zone ticket provides access to priority reserved seating for all finals contests on purchased day, in addition to official Dew Tour merchandise, a behind-the-scenes tour, athlete autograph session, merchandise discount coupon, Fast Pass access into all venues and interactive areas, and cold Mountain Dew.
Fans also have the option to purchase Reserved-seating tickets for $35 per day, Friday through Sunday, for children and adults. Reserved seating guarantees a reserved seat for all finals competitions on purchased day. Grounds Pass tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children each day, Friday through Sunday.
With the advanced purchase of any Dew Tour ticket, Friday through Sunday, fans will receive a free ticket to the preliminary round of competitions held on Thursday. Tickets to the Thursday contests are not for sale.
The purchase of a three-day ticket is also available for the final three events: Action Zone three-day pass for $250, a $50 savings; Reserved seating three-day pass for $90, a $15 savings; and a three-day Grounds Pass for $35, a $10 savings.
Entering its fifth year, the Dew Tour is the most watched and attended action sports property in the world. Attendance for the 2008 Dew Tour totaled nearly 275,000 and an average of 41 million viewers tuned in via NBC and USA. The top athletes in the world will take part in this year’s Tour, all competing for the highly coveted Dew Cup that will be awarded in Orlando at season’s end to champions in each of the six disciplines. The 2008 Dew Cup winners include Chaz Ortiz (Skateboard Park), Pierre-Luc Gagnon (Skateboard Vert), Jamie Bestwick (BMX Vert), Cameron White (BMX Dirt), Daniel Dhers (BMX Park), and Adam Jones (Freestyle Motocross).
